A somewhat dated episode of the short-lived (1957-1958) sitcom "Date with the Angels", starring Betty White. In this episode, Vickie is worried when a stunted palmtree is being removed. At least three other famous actors appear in this episode (Nancy Kulp, Richard Deacon, and Burt Mustin). In fact, the rest of the cast, while not "famous", were also prolific: George N. Neise, Maudie Prickett, Richard Reeves, Bill Williams, and Fred Sherman.

1957 sitcom starring Betty White and Bill Williams as a middle-class newlywed California couple. Vicki Angel (Betty) is obsessed with the city removing a stunted palm tree from her front lawn and comes up with a petition. Nancy Kulp and George Neise play married friends over for a card game. Eternally stuffy Richard Deacon plays another neighbor, with Burt Mustin as his elderly dad.
Maudie Prickett plays forthright neighbor Cassie Murphy. Due to Deacon's meddling in reaction to an innocent passing remark by Vicki, the petition snowballs in various directions away from Vicki's original intent -- widening the street, building a freeway, then a municipal airport. Eventually the mayor shows up at the Angel's house to explain things and make her cry. Apparently, White was glad when the series was canceled because of flat episodes like these, per Wikipedia, instead of the original premise of Vicki's imaginative daydreams, which the network didn't like. Morons.
